State Of Grace
In an amphitheater of basalt situated at the edge of the Icelandic highlands sits Aldeyjarfoss. Fed by the Skjálfandafljót river originating at the Vatnajökull glacier, the source water cuts it's way through the Suðurárhraun lava field to the fall. At 66 feet tall it is small in stature compared to many of the other named waterfalls in Iceland but what it lacks in height it more than makes up for in beauty... it is quite simply grace in motion. Beautiful in form and it's surrounding structures... in a word, elegant.
